Association president, Myron Dittmer, recently spoke before a group at the Melrose Milano Senior Center as part of their "Cultural Corner" program (March, 2015). Mr. Dittmer presented information on the historical development of the park since the 1930's and reviewed the biodiversity of flora and fauna that can be found in the park. Also, both Enge and Dana Jewell provided attendees with their their experience over many decades in identifying different species of birds at the park

Enge Jewell displaying a list of over 150 species of birds seen at Mount Hood Park in a 20 year period. She also displayed pictures of many birds seen at Mount Hood including artwork she created using materials found at the park. The framed picture shown above she made by assembling different pieces of birch bark found on the ground at the park.
